Stainless Steel does not need protective coatings and will never rust! Stainless steel is also harder and more durable which makes it last significantly longer than other metals. Some of our original clients have passed down their stainless steel barbecues (dating as far back as 1989) as a family heirloom. That’s how long they last.

Grade & Welding

All stainless steel collection products are manufactured using certified, European sourced, 304 grade stainless steel.
Welding of these products would be completed using 316 grade filler, with all visible welds being professionally ‘tig’ welded for a beautifully engineered finished construction.

Black Stainless Steel

Our stainless steel products are typically etched and powder coated satin black to ensure a traditional look but with the reassurance of a rust-free, everlasting, base metal.

However, we also welcome working in other materials to suit a commissions style. Other popular metals we work with include corten, mild steel, copper & much more. We were worried about getting the design right, incorporating our animals, and Black Forge Art were really good with their communication to make sure we got exactly what we were hoping for. We approached Black Forge Art to help take our ideas from initial thoughts to final design.  At every stage Rod was enthusiastic, listened and made suggestions and together we settled on two different design ideas.  These were mocked up and the final choice was then refined until we had a very bespoke design.  When the sign was finally unveiled there were audible gasps of delight.  We couldn’t be more pleased with the sign which is of exceptional quality and certainly appears to be virtually maintenance free, which was also an important consideration. I first contacted Josh about a bespoke BBQ back in 2022 but, owing to needing to rewire the house instead, had to put things on hold until over a year later. Josh took this in his stride, remembered who I was and what I wanted, and couldn't have been more helpful. His emails were informative, and he helped guide me through the specification to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Delivery was bang on schedule and, I think anyone would agree, it looks fantastic in its new home. If I ever move house and need another BBQ, I will look no further than Black Forge.
