About Black Forge Art
Established in 1989, the origins of Black Forge Art lie in an old farm building deep in the heart of rural Kent, UK.
From the start the aim was to create top quality metalwork, ensuring as much life, movement and realism possible and a finished construction built without compromise. Many of these original and new designs now available for purchase in our online store.
The same working ethos has continued throughout the years and our family run business has now grown a large portfolio of metal artwork commissions as well as many prestigious signs, village signs, public works of art, and weathervanes. We also continue to hand make top quality traditionally hot forged gates, railings, garden structures and a rather spectacular stainless steel barbecue range.
Whatever the product, either a new commission or an online store order we will always ensure the final result will be a piece of impressive metalwork, manufactured to the highest quality, and designed to last a lifetime.

Both times we had really helpful advice and both weathervanes have been very successful and we are very happy with our new one. I would recommend their company and thank you to them! The staff at Black Forge were very helpful in helping us to design a new one which has been successfully been made by them and is now in situ. This has been well received by the community. This family run company offers exceptional service. The team were all very friendly and helpful. My father was thrilled with the swallows weathervane which takes pride of place on the house. The product is of great quality and I would highly recommend this company to anyone! Matthew Hyde2024-07-17Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Black Forge Art were amazing, working from just a few photos and sketches to design and craft our house sign to exactly the right size to fit a circle left empty when we bought our house. We were worried about getting the design right, incorporating our animals, and Black Forge Art were really good with their communication to make sure we got exactly what we were hoping for. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Jenny Crow2024-07-16Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Irnham Parish Council were looking to commission a new village sign to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. We approached Black Forge Art to help take our ideas from initial thoughts to final design. At every stage Rod was enthusiastic, listened and made suggestions and together we settled on two different design ideas. These were mocked up and the final choice was then refined until we had a very bespoke design. When the sign was finally unveiled there were audible gasps of delight. We couldn’t be more pleased with the sign which is of exceptional quality and certainly appears to be virtually maintenance free, which was also an important consideration. A big thank you to all at Black Forge Art for their work and support for our project. Dr Woodster2024-07-15Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I first contacted Josh about a bespoke BBQ back in 2022 but, owing to needing to rewire the house instead, had to put things on hold until over a year later. Josh took this in his stride, remembered who I was and what I wanted, and couldn't have been more helpful. His emails were informative, and he helped guide me through the specification to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Delivery was bang on schedule and, I think anyone would agree, it looks fantastic in its new home. If I ever move house and need another BBQ, I will look no further than Black Forge. Workmanship and customer service done as they should be!
