What is a 'Framed Picture Sign'?
Framed signs are our most variable and popular style of sign. These high quality and highly detailed signs include a solid and sturdy outer frame created from stainless steel box section.
The framing of the sign provides rigidity to suit multiple locations and mounting options including hanging signs and signs to sit on top of posts. Your chosen design will also be given a tree and grass surround (unless requested or shown otherwise).

Step 1 - Design

Step 2 - Size
All framed signs can be ordered in any size to suit any location from smaller properties to large farms, manors and business entrances.
- 2ft. (61cm) wide. – For homes.
- 2ft. 6in (76cm) wide. – For homes and farms.
- 3ft (92cm) wide. – For homes, farms & businesses.
- 3ft. 6ins. (92cm) wide. – For farms, businesses and large properties.
- 4ft (122cm) wide. – For large farms, business entrances, and large properties.
Step 3 - Sign Colour
Our rust-proof stainless steel signs will be etched, primed and powder coated in either Jet Black (RAL 9005) or Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016). We recommend black for a traditional finish. Alternative colours can be requested.
Step 4 - Framed Sign Mounting

Hanging Bracket
- Wall Mounted – Holes pre-drilled into the four corners of the frame for fixing to a vertical surface. 15mm long wall spacers included.
- Post-Top Sleeve – To fit atop a post we weld a box post sleeve to the base of the sign with a pair of hot forged ‘C’ shaped scrolls. 2ft. > 2ft. 6ins. wide signs suit a 4 inch square post and 3ft. > 4ft. signs suit a 6 inch square post.
- Hanging Bracket – For hanging the framed sign from a post or vertical surface. ‘Swinging’ backets include durable ‘D’ shape hanging rings and our unique ‘carabiner style’ locking mechanism. ‘Fixed’ brackets will not swing. Our heavy duty hanging brackets will match the chosen width of sign.
Optional - Upgrade to an Arched Top
Replace the standard flat top of the frame with a beautiful, curving arch. This option is a popular choice for post-top mounting

A Pair of handmade hot forged ‘S’ scrolls and decorative ball welded to the top of the sign.

Optional - Backing Sheets
A solid sheet fitted to the rear of the entire sign to create a contrasting backdrop for the artwork (and solid letters if chosen). Only required for locations with dark backgrounds. Note, backing sheets turn our double sided signs into single sided signs.

Step 5 - Frame Thickness
You can even increase the size of the outer frame for a heavier look if preferred. The ‘Standard’ size frame is our suggested size and both standard and larger frames will equally provide a beautiful, rigid, robust, and secure sign.
- 2ft. wide & 2ft. 6ins sized signs. – Standard frame of 25mm x 25mm box or larger frame of 30mm x 30mm.
- 3ft. to 4ft. sizes signs – Standard frame of 30mm x 30mm box or larger frame of 50mm x 25mm box.
Step 6 - Lettering
All the above images in this guide display a visual of white vinyl letters which is our recommended lettering choice.
Vinyl letters are appropriate for the majority of our signs and will be applied to both sides of the lettering area to create a double sided sign (apart from wall mounted options). We use premium quality ‘cast’ vinyl to ensure long lasting adhesions to the finished surface and to withstand all weathers. This style and quality of lettering is also used in the aviation and automotive industry (including Formula One).

We offer solid letters in either Times New Roman font for a traditional style or Futura font for a modern finish. Note these cut out letters are only readable from the face side.
